Tax Cuts for the Poor?
So once again, the Demagogues, ooops sorry, Democrats have trotted out the "tax cuts for the rich" argument against extending the Bush Tax cuts [which fortunately passed yesterday].
The big gripe of most of these Democrats is that the poor people of their district just won't see any money. New York's Chuck Schumer is one of the biggest whiners on this topic. Awwwwww
First off, Chuckie, most poor people [about half now] Don't Pay Any Income Taxes.
The taxes they pay from dollar one are Social Security Taxes - Medicare and the old FICA - about 14%, AND THAT NUMBER HASN'T CHANGED FOR YEARS!!!!!
[Yes, I'm including the "employer's part of Social Security. Its your money, ask the IRS]
I think Rush pointed that out once and nobody else seems to want to carry the water, so here we go...
To the Democrats: To get a tax cut, you first have to pay taxes.
Its a simple economic principal - too bad they don't teach that in school any more — or on the floor of the Congress.
